Ancient Capital Mtskheta

In the morning meet the guide at the hotel lobby. Drive towards Mtskheta, ancient capital of eastern Georgian Kingdom – Kartli. Followed by a short drive we will arrive at Jvari monastery. Founded in early 7^th century. The monastery sits on the top of the mountain overlooking beautiful views of the town Mtskheta. Next drive to Svetitskhoveli cathedral- visit the 11^th c masterpiece of Georgian religious architecture. The Cathedral is surrounded by defensive walls.  Once we get inside the temple, we will see a beautiful interior decorated with frescoes from the 17^th century.  

Visit the monument. Enjoy the walk in the area old town. Continue trip towards village- Chardakhi. Meet the local wine maker, who produces  wine using traditional methodology- fermennting and aging wine in qvevri. Visit the local cellar with the wine maker, who will explain how wine is made in a traditional way.  The visit to the cellar will be followed by wine tasting and lunch with traditional Georgian cuisine..
